Case 2: Cannot Access the Old Email

If the old email is no longer usable, you'll need to go through manual review.

Steps

  1. Contact Binance live support or submit a ticket
  2. Select "Account Security" > "Change Email" issue category
  3. Provide the following identity verification materials:

Required materials:

  • Photos of both sides of your ID/passport
  • Selfie holding your ID (face and document info must be clearly visible)
  • Selfie with a handwritten note stating "Request to change bound email," the current date, and your Binance UID

Supporting materials:

  • Old registration email address
  • New email address
  • Recent deposit/withdrawal records
  • Approximate account balance
  • Registration time and region

Review Process

  • After submission: The system will send a confirmation email to your new email — click to confirm
  • Review time: Typically 1-7 business days
  • Security freeze: After a successful change, withdrawals may be prohibited for 24-48 hours
  • Review result: Notification sent to the new email

Choosing a Secure Email Provider

When changing email, it's recommended to choose a more secure email service:

Recommended Email Services

  1. Gmail (Google)

    • High security, supports 2FA
    • Most widely used globally
    • Powerful spam filtering
  2. ProtonMail

    • End-to-end encryption
    • Based in Switzerland with strict privacy protection
    • Ideal for users with high privacy requirements
  3. Outlook (Microsoft)

    • Good security
    • Integrated with the Microsoft ecosystem
    • Supports advanced security features

Not Recommended

  • Small, unknown email providers (security unknown)
  • Company email (may become inaccessible after leaving)
  • Temporary email services (may expire at any time)

Email Security Settings

Regardless of which email you use, implement these security measures:

  1. Enable 2FA for the email itself: Set up two-factor authentication for your email account
  2. Use a strong password: Your email password should be different from your Binance password
  3. Check regularly: Review email login history and security status
  4. Disable email forwarding: Ensure no auto-forwarding to other email addresses is set up

Post-Change Security Checklist

After successfully changing your email, perform the following security checks:

1. Confirm All Security Settings Are Normal

2. Update Related Settings

  • If API key notifications were set up, confirm they'll go to the new email
  • Check for any pending trades or orders
  • Confirm login alerts and notification features are working

3. Review Account Activity

  • Check login history for any unusual logins
  • Look for unknown withdrawal or trading records
  • Check API keys for anomalies

Important Notes

  1. Don't change frequently: Frequent email changes may trigger security reviews
  2. Ensure new email is reliable: Test that the new email can send and receive normally before making the change
  3. Don't share the new email: Don't publicly share the email address registered with Binance
  4. Keep old email for a while: After changing, keep the old email for at least a month just in case
  5. Withdrawal freeze period: There may be a 24-48 hour withdrawal ban after changing your email
