How to Convert Small Balances to BNB on Binance

What Are Small Balances (Dust)

During cryptocurrency trading, your account often accumulates tiny, residual token balances. For example, when you sell a token, precision issues may leave behind 0.00023 of that token, or you might receive a tiny airdrop from an activity. These small residual assets are called "dust."

Each individual dust asset is too small to trade on the spot market (below the minimum trade amount), and it's not worth withdrawing them individually (the fee might exceed the asset's value). They simply sit in your account, taking up space while being unusable.

Binance's small balance conversion feature (Convert Small Balance to BNB) was designed to solve this problem.

What Small Balance Conversion Does

This feature lets you convert all tokens below a certain value into BNB with one click. Specifically:

  • Converts all tokens worth less than approximately 10 USDT equivalent
  • Can process multiple tokens in a single operation
  • You receive the equivalent value in BNB
  • The entire process incurs no additional fees

After conversion, your account becomes much tidier, and the BNB you receive can be used to pay trading fees (with a 25% discount), participate in Launchpool, and more.

How to Find the Small Balance Conversion Feature

On the App

  1. Open the Binance App and log in
  2. Tap "Assets" or "Wallet" at the bottom
  3. Go to "Spot Wallet"
  4. Tap "..." or the more options button in the upper right corner
  5. Select "Convert Small Balance to BNB" or "Dust Conversion"

On the Web

  1. Log in to the Binance website
  2. Hover over "Wallet" in the upper right corner
  3. Click "Spot Wallet"
  4. Find the "Convert Small Balance to BNB" option on the wallet page

Conversion Steps

Step 1: View Convertible Assets

Once you enter the small balance conversion page, the system automatically lists all qualifying small assets in your account, including:

  • Each token's name and quantity held
  • Each token's current estimated value (usually denominated in BNB)
  • The total estimated value available for conversion

Step 2: Select Assets to Convert

You can choose to convert all assets or check specific tokens. If you want to keep a particular small token (for instance, if you're bullish on its future), you can uncheck it.

It's generally recommended to select all unless you have specific tokens you want to keep.

Step 3: Confirm Conversion

Review the conversion preview, confirm the tokens to be converted and the estimated BNB amount, then click "Confirm Conversion." The conversion completes instantly, and BNB arrives in your spot wallet immediately.

Conversion Rules and Limits

Asset Value Threshold

Only tokens with individual values below approximately 0.001 BTC equivalent (roughly a few to about ten dollars, depending on BNB price fluctuations) are identified as convertible small assets. If a token's value exceeds this threshold, it won't appear in the conversion list.

Conversion Frequency

Small balance conversion can be used once every 24 hours. If you've already converted today, you'll need to wait until tomorrow.

Supported Tokens

Nearly all tokens listed on Binance support small balance conversion. However, tokens in special states (such as delisted or trading-suspended tokens) may temporarily be unavailable for conversion.

Conversion Rate

The conversion uses real-time market rates, essentially matching spot market prices. Since conversion amounts are typically very small, rate differences have a negligible impact on the final result.

Benefits of Converting to BNB

After converting dust assets to BNB, you can put that BNB to good use:

  1. Pay trading fees: Enable BNB fee payment for a 25% fee discount
  2. Participate in Launchpool: Even small amounts of BNB can be used to farm new tokens
  3. Accumulate over time: Regular dust conversion gradually builds up a meaningful BNB balance
  4. Keep your account tidy: Reduce the number of small token balances for easier management
  5. BNB appreciation potential: If BNB's price rises, the BNB you received from conversion appreciates too

Practical Example

Suppose your account contains the following small assets:

Token Amount Estimated Value
DOGE 2.3 ≈ 0.3 USDT
ADA 1.5 ≈ 0.6 USDT
SHIB 50,000 ≈ 0.5 USDT
DOT 0.08 ≈ 0.4 USDT
MATIC 0.5 ≈ 0.2 USDT

These small assets are worth about 2 USDT total, and none can be sold individually on the spot market. Through small balance conversion, you can convert them all into approximately 2 USDT worth of BNB in one click, bringing these "dead assets" back to life.

FAQ

Q: Does small balance conversion charge a fee? A: No fees are charged. The conversion is done at market rates, and the BNB you receive equals the value of your small assets.

Q: Can I undo a conversion? A: Conversions cannot be reversed once completed. Please carefully review your selections before converting.

Q: Why don't some small assets appear in the conversion list? A: The asset's value may exceed the small asset threshold, or the token may temporarily not support conversion.

Q: Can I use this feature if I don't have any BNB? A: Yes. Small balance conversion doesn't require you to already hold BNB. The BNB you receive from the conversion will be your first BNB.

Q: What is the minimum amount for small balance conversion? A: There is no minimum amount. Even dust worth 0.01 USDT can be converted.

Build a Regular Cleanup Habit

We recommend performing a small balance conversion every week or two to keep your account tidy while accumulating BNB. Log in to the Binance website or open the Binance App — it takes less than a minute. Over time, you may be surprised at how much value these seemingly insignificant "dust" particles can accumulate.
