How to Transfer Funds Between Binance Accounts

Binance Account System Overview

On the Binance platform, your assets are distributed across multiple functional sub-accounts. To use funds for different features, you need to transfer between accounts. The good news is that transfers between Binance internal accounts are completely free and instant.

Main Account Types

Spot Account: The most basic account, used for spot trading. Funds deposited via P2P or crypto deposits go to the Funding account by default and need to be transferred to the Spot account for spot trading.

Funding Account: Used for P2P trading, Binance Pay, red packets, and similar features. USDT purchased via P2P will first arrive in the Funding account.

Futures Account: A dedicated account for USDT-M or Coin-M futures trading. Margin must be transferred to this account before opening positions.

Margin Account: A dedicated account for margin trading, available in cross and isolated modes. Collateral must be transferred to the corresponding margin account before margin trading.

Earn Account: When subscribing to Binance Earn products, funds are transferred from the Spot account to the Earn account. Funds return to the Spot account upon redemption.

Transfer Steps

Transfer via APP

  1. Open the Binance APP and log in
  2. Tap "Assets" or "Wallet" at the bottom
  3. Find the "Transfer" button (usually at the top of the asset overview page)
  4. Select the "From" account (e.g., Funding Account)
  5. Select the "To" account (e.g., Spot Account)
  6. Choose the currency to transfer (e.g., USDT)
  7. Enter the transfer amount (tap "Max" for the full balance)
  8. Tap "Confirm Transfer"

The entire process requires no verification or waiting time — funds arrive instantly upon confirmation.

Transfer via Web

  1. Log in to the Binance website
  2. Hover over the "Wallet" menu in the top right
  3. Select "Spot Wallet" or another wallet
  4. Find the "Transfer" button on the wallet page
  5. In the transfer popup, select source and destination accounts
  6. Enter the currency and amount, then confirm

Quick Transfer

On certain trading pages, Binance provides quick transfer shortcuts. For example:

  • On the Futures trading page, tap "Transfer" to quickly move funds from Spot to Futures
  • The Margin trading page also has quick transfer access
  • On the Earn subscription page, the system automatically deducts from the Spot account without manual transfers

Common Transfer Scenarios

Scenario 1: Trading After P2P Purchase

After buying USDT via P2P, funds are in the Funding account. To spot trade: Funding Account → Spot Account

Scenario 2: Spot to Futures

To use Spot account USDT for futures trading: Spot Account → USDT-M Futures Account

Scenario 3: Withdrawing Futures Profits to Spot

After profiting from futures, to move profits out: USDT-M Futures Account → Spot Account

Scenario 4: Earn Subscription

To deposit idle USDT into Earn for interest: Spot Account → Earn Account (usually completed automatically during subscription)

Scenario 5: Multi-Account Workflow

Some complex operations may require multi-step transfers. For example, to trade futures after a P2P purchase: Funding Account → Spot Account → Futures Account

Important Notes

No Transfer Fees

All internal account transfers on Binance are completely free, with no fees or amount limits. You can transfer between different accounts at any time.

Instant Transfers

Account transfers are completed instantly without waiting for blockchain confirmations. Funds are available immediately after confirmation.

Futures Account Special Rules

When you have open positions in the Futures account, withdrawing funds may be restricted. The system ensures your margin ratio stays within safe limits — if withdrawing would leave insufficient margin for current positions, the transfer will be rejected. You'll need to reduce or close positions before withdrawing all funds.

Margin Account Special Rules

If the Margin account has outstanding loans, you cannot withdraw all funds. You must first repay all loans and interest before transferring remaining funds.

Earn Account Redemption

Fixed-term Earn products cannot be redeemed during the lock-up period. Flexible Earn products can be redeemed at any time, with funds automatically returning to the Spot account.

FAQ

Q: Why can't I trade with my USDT in the Funding account? A: Spot trading uses funds from the Spot account. Please transfer your USDT from the Funding account to the Spot account first.

Q: Is there a limit on the number of transfers? A: No limit. You can transfer between different accounts as many times as you want.

Q: Why can't I withdraw funds from my Futures account? A: This may be because you have open positions and a low margin ratio. You'll need to reduce or close positions before withdrawing more funds.

Q: Can I transfer directly from the Funding account to the Futures account? A: Yes, Binance supports direct transfers between any two accounts without going through an intermediate account.
